Bristol Rovers vs. Bolton Prediction, Tips & Stats

Two sides with little to play for meet in League One this weekend as Bristol Rovers face Bolton Wanderers.

Bristol Rovers currently sit 15th in League One with fourteen wins, eleven draws and twenty losses from forty-five games this season.

Rovers have had a pretty forgettable campaign but it's one that fans will have found frustrating.

Their side have never threatened to kick on and be anything other than a mid-table side this season but they've showed a propensity to take points off the league's better sides on a regular basis with there downfall coming against the 'lesser' sides in the division.

They enter this game in abysmal form having failed to win any of their last six matches while losing four of their last five.

Their most recent game saw them lose 2-1 to an out of form Shrewsbury Town side.

Their form at home is slightly better having taken four points from their last three games on home soil so they'll be hoping they can use home advantage to end the season on a positive note.

Rovers need to make a number of changes this summer in order to kick on next season and whether or not that means manager Joey Barton departs the club remains to be seen. For that reason he'll desperate to end the campaign with a win.

Bolton Wanderers currently sit 5th in League One with twenty-two wins, twelve draws and eleven losses from forty-five games this season.

Bolton have had an excellent campaign and have fulfilled expectations having secured a top six finish with time to spare.

They come into this game trying to defend their 5th place position as they risk losing it to Derby County should The Rams win and Bolton fail to match their result.

A 6th place finish would mean Bolton have to face Sheffield Wednesday over two legs, something they'll want to avoid at all costs given the strength of the other sides in comparison.

Their form coming into this game is solid having won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five games.

Most recently, Bolton cruised to a 2-0 win over Fleetwood Town to score their place in the play-offs.

Their form away from home has been decent with The Trotters now unbeaten in their last five away from home having won two of their last three on the road.

They're playing a side woefully out of form here and should collect all three points.

For our Bristol Rovers vs. Bolton prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the away side.
