Two sides in the bottom half of the table will clash here with Cambridge United playing hosts to Cheltenham Town with the away team still sitting in the relegation zone after another terrible losing skid.
Cheltenham continue to struggle in 2024, and despite a famous win over the league leaders Portsmouth, the Robins remain down in the relegation zone after three losses in a row. That home win over Pompey did see Liam Sercombe keep up his excellent goalscoring form with a brace that saw him net twice inside three minutes.
The Robins have now only won six games in the league this season and have a gap of seven points on Port Vale in the safe spots of League One. Since that win over Portsmouth, Bolton Wanderers, Derby County and Wycombe Wanderers have all managed to defeat them.
No other wins have came in for Darrell Clarke's men in 2024 so far, as their last win before the Portsmouth victory was back on Boxing Day over Shrewsbury Town where Sercombe once again stole the show. Clarke's side are also 12 points behind Cambridge United in the league table.
As for the U's, their spot in 15th right now means no real hope of a spot in the playoffs but also a big gap of 10 points on the bottom three. Cambridge have still only managed to score 25 goals this season, but they are currently on a four-game unbeaten run after beating Fleetwood Town at the start of the month.
A further draw with Exeter City in January and a clash with Burton Albion both saw Cambridge collect a point in 0-0 ties, as they went on to beat Shrewsbury Town last time out. Lyle Taylor scored twice in that game with a goal in either half.
