Two sides with just one defeat in all competitions at the start of the 2022/23 season will meet in League One this weekend with Reading set to make the trip across the southern part of England to Exeter City.
Exeter defeated Carlisle United in their last outing with a 2-0 win at Brunton Park, as Demetri Mitchell scored not long after a goal from Ryan Trevitt. This did come after a loss to Portsmouth at Fratton Park, although the club also suffered dull 0-0 draw with Blackpool beforehand too.
However, with a 3-0 win against Wycombe Wanderers away from home on the opening weekend coming in before a 2-1 victory over Crawley in the EFL Cup first round, Exeter have only lost once this season.
Kevin Ehibatiomhan has been the hero recently with his two goals in the win over Stevenage, as he also scored a brace in the 4-0 win over Championship side Reading in the EFL Cup first round after a finish from Charlie Savage and Mamadi Camara. Reading did lose to Port Vale shortly after that win, however, and have also suffered a 1-0 loss to Peterborough United on the opening weekend.
Reading's recent form has drastically improved, however, and despite some injuries, they will be confident in getting the job done in this game.
