Oxford United's bid for League One survival resumes on Saturday as they face already relegated Forest Green Rovers.
Forest Green Rovers currently sit 24th in League One with six wins, nine draws and twenty-nine losses from forty-four games this season.
Forest Green have had an utterly dismal campaign following promotion from League One last time out having spent the majority of the campaign rooted to the foot of the table as the outstanding relegation candidate.
They're already mathematically relegated and their form has not been improving one bit as they enter this game having drawn one and lost four of their last five matches.
Their most recent outing saw them fall to a comfortable 3-1 defeat away at Cheltenham Town having fallen 3-0 behind after just 38 minutes.
Their form at home has not been much better either, with Forest Green winning just one of their last twelve matches on home soil.
Both fans and players alike at Forest Green are probably willing this season to conclude with he whole campaign a miserable experience for everybody involved. Their squad will no doubt try to salvage some pride but the chances of that are low, and it seems perfectly plausible that they won't get another point this season.
Oxford United currently sit 20th in the Championship with nine wins, fourteen draws and twenty losses from forty-three games this season.
Oxford have had a legitimately awful time in 2023 having won just twice all year with both wins coming in early January.
As such, they now enter this game having failed to win any of their last seventeen matches having drawn three and lost two of their last five games, the most recent of which as a 2-0 defeat at Barnsley.
In fairness to Oxford they've had a tough time of things in recent games having played a number of promotion contenders in their last five games, but that will be of little comfort if they fail to remain in the league this season as they face a nervy finish.
Their form away from home is poor overall having failed to win any of their last five on the road, but they have lost only one of their last four so there is cause for optimism.
Oxford drew 1-1 with Forest Green when the two sides met back in November so they'll want to go one better here. They're on a long winless run but this is the easiest game in the league calendar so it's do or die for the away side.
For our Forest Green vs. Oxford prediction, we're going for a 1-0 win for the away side.
