Derby Country travel to Brisbane Road to face Leyton Orient this Saturday. While Derby are looking at a spot in the Play-offs, Leyton Orient are floundering in the mid table, closer to the relegation zone than the Play-offs.
Leyton Orient currently sit 16th in League One after 19 games. Orient have five wins, seven draws and seven losses, leaving them on 22 points, seven points above the relegation zone in a tight bottom half, with ten points covering ten different teams.
In their last five games in all competitions, Orient have two draws and three losses. Ruben Rodrigues and Billy Bodin scored late in the first half to give Oxford United the 2 - 0 lead at halftime and just a minute into the second half, Rodrigues scored again to increase the goal cushion to three. An own goal from Fin Stevens and a goal from Ruel Sotiriou brought Orient back into it, but Oxford held on for a 3 - 2 win. Next up, Orient hosted Lincoln City, where Ethan Hamilton scored the only goal of the game in the 89th minute for a 1 - 0 win.
The first of two 1 - 1 draws came against Wigan. Shaq Forde opened the scoring for Orient in the 18th minute but Stephen Humphrys grabbed a goal for Wigan to make it level at halftime. However, neither team could find a winner as the game finished 1- 1. The next draw was against Bristol Rovers. Grant Ward gave Rovers the lead in the added time of the first half and Orient only equalised in the 93rd minute through an own goal from Tristan Crama.
The last time out for Orient was in the Second round of the FA Cup against Chesterfield. An Idris El Mizouni own goal was the only goal of the game as Chesterfield took home a 1 - 0 win.
Derby, on the other hand, sit sixth in League One. In 18 games, The Rams have ten wins, three draws and five losses which leaves them on 33 points, two points within the Play-offs but six points behind automatic promotion.
In their last five games in all competitions, Derby have four wins and one loss. A brace from James Collins and a goal from Craig Forsyth gave Derby the dominant 3 - 0 win over Barnsley who were held to just one shot on target. The one loss came in the First round Replay of the FA Cup against Crewe Alexandra. Tom Barkhuizen opened the scoring in the third minute for Derby, but a double from Aaron Rowe in the first half and another goal from Mickey Demetriou in the second half as Crewe won 3 - 1.
A Jack Hunt own goal put Derby ahead in the 66th minute, but it looked like it would end all square after Chris Martin’s 87th minute goal. However, Nathaniel Mendez-Laing popped up with a goal in the 90th minute to give Derby the 2 - 1 win over Bristol Rovers. Tyreece John-Jules scored the only goal of the game late on for a 1 - 0 win over Port Vale.
The most recent outing for Derby was against Fleetwood in the Football League Trophy. A Collins brace and a John-Jules goal gave Derby a 3 - 0 win over Fleetwood.
Leyton Orient and Derby have met 48 times in their histories, with the first ever meeting coming back in 1907. Not much separates the two sides as Derby has 22 wins whereas Orient have 18 wins, with eight draws in the fixture.
