Lincoln City vs Burton Albion Prediction, Tips & Stats

Lincoln City will take on Burton Albion this weekend at the LNER Stadium with both sides sitting outside of the top half of the table following on from a poor start to the season with both teams playing during the week.

Lincoln met with Wolves U21s in the Football League Trophy on Tuesday night, as Hakeeb Adelakun scored in the first half before a goal late on from Jovon Makama. Before this, however, the club would lose to Peterborough United in a 2-0 away loss, as the club would also be 1-0 down to Leyton Orient before the game was halted and eventually suspended - this match will now take place later in the season.

This now means the only victory over the past six games in the league for the Imps has seen them defeat the out-of-form Cheltenham Town in last place where Lasse Sorensen scored twice in the first half.

As for Burton Albion, they are down in 18th ahead of this one after what has been another terrible start to a League One campaign for them. In fact, ever since dropping down from the Championship, form has been tough to go by for the club. They are coming into this match off the back a two 2-1 victories in a row where they managed to beat Wigan Athletic with a brace from Joe Powell before beating Cambridge United by the same scoreline where Josh Walker and Deji Oshilaja.

          Burton Albion team news

Burton head into this one with a few injuries to worry about and they will also be without Beryly Lubala in the attack after his red card against Wigan Athletic two weeks ago. The club will also be without Gordon in the attack as well to further send worries to the fans, as he came off injured in that game. Baah is also set to face a late fitness test in this match, but Helm will start alongside Oshilaja and Joe Powell. We are likely to see Rakeem Harper come back into the side now as a result, while Jamal Blackman is also back with the Brewers after a bout with injuries. Mason Bennett will likely start up top too.

          Lincoln City team news

Lincoln City will be without Hakeem Adelakun in this game after his injury in the win over Wolves U21s. Duffy will. however, be fit it seems despite coming off in that game and Shodipo will also start here once more. Teddy Bishop will start here again after coming off in the midweek loss, and he will feature alongside Smith, Brown and Burroughs. In defence, Eyoma, Mitchell and Roughan will all remain in the back three that starts most games. Reeco Hackett-Farirchild will come back into the starting XI here too, while Daniel Mandroiu. Jovon Makama will also likely get more minutes in this one and Adam Jackson and Ethan Hamilton will also come into the side after missing the midweek games. Lukas Jensen will also start in goal once more for Wright.
