For our Lincoln vs. MK Dons prediction, we're going for a 1-0 win for the home side
MK Dons continue their search for a sorely-needed win as they travel to face Lincoln City this week.
Lincoln City currently sit 15th in League One with eight wins, sixteen draws and seven losses from thirty-one games this season.
The Imps have been a peculiar side in League One this season having proved themselves a tough side to beat, as seen by only seven losses, while failing to be decisive enough to mount a serious play-off push - as seen by the excessive number of draws.
They enter this game amidst a fairly typical run of form by their standards having reigned unbeaten across their last seven matches, drawing five of them.
Their most recent game was a fairly disappointing 1-1 draw against bottom of the league Forest Green Rovers, a result that confirmed a third straight draw for The Imps.
The Imps have struggled in front of goal all season and that doesn’t look like improving anytime soon with Mark Kennedy’s side scoring just three times in their last four matches.
They’re still unbeaten at home in the league this season, despite drawing twelve of their fifteen home games, so that is a record they’ll want to preserve for the remainder of the campaign.
Lincoln will almost certainly finish unremarkably in mid-table so results for them are becoming less significant as the weeks go by. They should win here, though, as they face a side woefully out of form.
MK Dons currently sit 22nd in League One with eight wins, five draws and twenty losses from thirty-three games this season.
Dons have had an inexplicably abysmal campaign in the league this season which has been a shock to every follower of this league with most onlookers having them pinned as a play-off contender at worst coming into this season.
Instead, they’ve spent the entire campaign fighting for their lives in the relegation zone and they enter this game amidst a poor run of form having won one, drawn one and lost three of their last five league matches.
Most recently, Dons were beaten 0-1 at home by Ipswich Town, a result that confirmed their third straight loss in the league.
In fairness, they’ve played three promotion contenders in that three-match stretch but having lost the games 11-2 on aggregate there are few positives to take from the encounters.
Their away form does look slightly more encouraging here having won two and lost two of their last four on the road, so they’ll be hoping that means they won’t walk away empty handed here.
The two sides drew 0-0 when they met in the league back in January but that result does not do Dons much good here. They need a win, but considering Lincoln’s resolve on home soil it’s hard to see it coming here.
