Morecambe vs. Peterborough Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Morecambe vs. Peterborough prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.

Two sides with contrasting ambitions meet in League One this weekend as Morecambe host Peterborough United.

Morecambe currently sit 21st in League One with six wins, ten draws and fourteen losses from thirty games this season.

The Shrimps have had an expectedly tough campaign in League One this season having spent the majority of it fighting to climb out of the relegation zone, and it looks as though that fight is going to go right down to the wire form them as they continue to struggle.

They enter this game amidst a poor run of form having won one, drawn one and lost three of their last five matches in all competitions, the most recent of which was comfortable 3-0 drubbing away at Sheffield Wednesday.

The loss at Sheffield Wednesday meant Morecambe's last three defeats have come by an aggregate scoreline of 12-0, a damning indictment of their current defensive structure.

Their home record, however, is extremely encouraging with The Shrimps having won four and drawn one of their last five matches on home soil in the league. They'll have to hope they can rediscover that form here amidst a poor recent run of overall form.

Morecambe are still only one point shy of safety with a game in hand over MK Dons so there's no need to panic as of yet, and despite Peterborough's standing in the table they enter this game as a wounded animal so The Shrimps should be looking to capitalise.

Peterborough United currently sit 9th in League One with fourteen wins, two draws and thirteen losses from twenty-nine games this season.

The Posh have had a rollercoaster of a season in terms of form as they cannot seem to make their mind up as to whether or not they want to make the play-offs this season.

They enter this game amidst an average run of form having won three and lost two of their last five league matches, but they're coming off the back of a two-match losing streak with the most recent game being a 1-0 loss away at Fleetwood Town.

Prior to the Fleetwood game Peterborough were battered 0-5 on their own patch by Bolton Wanderers, a damning result that very much suggests The Posh don't have what it takes to secure promotion this season.

Peterborough beat Morecambe 3-0 when the two sides met back in August and they need to hope for a similar performance here as they attempt to claw back some momentum following a poor run. On paper it's a game they should win, but it's not easy to trust The Posh at the minute.
