Peterborough vs. Charlton Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Peterborough vs. Charlton prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the home side.

Peterborough United continue their push for a place in the League One play-offs as they welcome Charlton Athletic to London Road this week.

Peterborough United currently sit 9th in League One with sixteen wins, two draws and thirteen losses from thirty-one games this season.

The Posh have had a rollercoaster of a season in terms of form having fluctuated between impressive winning runs and barren winless streaks as they enter this game amidst what appears as though it could be the start of another winning run.

Peterborough have won three and lost two of their last five league matches, the most recent of which was a whopping 5-2 win over 2nd place Plymouth Argyle.

The Posh delivered a scintillating performance against one of the league's top sides as they ran out convincing winners to make it two wins on the bounce by an aggregate scoreline of 8-2.

Their home record has been solid of late too, winning three and losing two of their last five league games on home soil.

Darren Ferguson's side are seven points shy of the play-off spots with at least one game, and in some cases two, in hand over the sides above them. It will take a strong late run to secure a top six finish but they're more than capable, and to do so they must be able to beat sides like Charlton.

Charlton Athletic currently sit 14th in League One with ten wins, ten draws and twelve losses from thirty-two games this season.

The Addicks have had one of their more forgettable seasons from a domestic standpoint as they look destined to float to a harmless mid-table finish having rarely threatened to do anything more significant at any point during this campaign.

They enter this game amidst a fairly poor run of form having won two and lost three of their last five league matches, the most recent of which was a 0-1 loss at home to Sheffield Wednesday.

The loss to Wednesday secured their second successive defeat which, considering they've faced two promotion contenders in that time, can be forgiven.

Their away record has actually been pretty impressive of late, with Charlton winning three of their last four league matches on the road.

These two sides drew 1-1 when they met in the league back in September, but given Peterborough's form this one could be much more difficult for The Addicks. They're capable of a result here, but The Posh should have too much for them.
