Portsmouth and Blackpool will clash this weekend with Pompey still sitting top of the table with the Tangerines putting together a solid start to the latest campaign in their own right with a spot just outside of the playoffs.
Portsmouth remain unbeaten in League One heading into their return to Fratton Park with 10 wins on the board for them now and six draws. This tally keeps them one point ahead of Oxford United in the race for top spot, while they are also ahead of Derby County down in seventh and outside the playoff spots by nine points.
Pompey did draw 2-2 with Charlton Athletic last time out, but once again, Colby Bishop and Abu Kamara were on the mark with a goal each in either half, respectively. Another nine shots on target came in that day for the club too.
Portsmouth did, however, also lose to Chesterfield at the start of the month in FA Cup first round, meaning their only wins within the past month have seen them defeat Leyton Orient in the Football League Trophy group stages and Reading away from home back in the league.
Blackpool come into this game with a spot in eighth and off the back of arguably their best display of the season when they defeated Shrewsbury Town. Jordan Rhodes scored from the spot that day, as Jake Beesley scored in either half of the 4-0 win alongside a finish from Kyle Joseph.
The Tangerines are now adrift of the playoffs only on goals difference as they have scored 28 goals and let in 23 compared to the superior tally of Barnsley in sixth. However, with seven wins on the board from 18 games, they've also played two more games than many around them.
