For our Portsmouth vs. Bolton prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.
Bolton continue their impressive promotion push this week as they travel south to face Portsmouth in League One.
Portsmouth currently sit 10th in League One with eleven wins, twelve draws and eight losses from thirty-one games this season.
Pompey have a had a fairly peculiar trajectory this season as many expected them to be one of the primary promotion contenders enter this season, and they started in a fashion indicative of those projections before abruptly and inexplicably imploding.
They've since changed managers and it while it's taken a while to get the train running again recent results may well suggest they've finally turned a corner. They enter this game having taken seven points from their last three games, the most recent of which was a 4-0 battering of Cheltenham Town.
The result against Cheltenham was a much-needed and long-awaited convincing trouncing of an opponent, something a Pompey side this strong on paper should have done more of this season.
Their home form is very good coming into this game having won three and drawn one of their last four matches.
Portsmouth will be brimming with confidence coming into this game after their heavy win at the weekend and a second successive win against Bolton will do wonders for their momentum, as tough as it might be.
Bolton Wanderers currently sit 4th in League One with eighteen wins, eight draws and eight losses from thirty-four games this season.
After a slow start to the campaign, The Trotters have firmly cemented themselves as one of their main promotion contenders in light of an excellent run of sustained form.
They enter this game amidst a strong run having won four and lost one of their last five matches in all competitions, the most recent of which was a 2-1 win over Port Vale.
Their away record is almost equally as strong too, with The Trotters winning three and losing one of their last four games on the road.
Their head to head record has also been very favourable of late having beaten Portsmouth 3-0 when the two sides locked horns in the league back in January having beaten them 1-0 in the EFL Trophy just four days prior.
Bolton are nine points clear of Wycombe in 7th and are looking excellently placed for a spot in the play-offs as we enter the final stretch of the season. If they can claim three points here away at an in-form side that would do their chances wonders.
