Sheffield Wednesday vs. MK Dons Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Sheffield Wednesday vs. MK Dons prediction, we're going for a 3-0 win for the home side.

Sheffield Wednesday continue their promotion push as they welcome a struggling MK Dons side to Hillsborough.

Sheffield Wednesday currently sit 2nd in League One with nineteen wins, eight draws and three losses from thirty games this season.

The Owls have had a fine season in League One as they find themselves primed for automatic promotion back to the Championship with just sixteen games left of the campaign.

They enter this game having won four and drawn one of their last five matches in the league, the most recent of which was a comfortable 3-0 win over Morecambe.

The win meant Wednesday meant they've now kept clean sheets in four of their last five matches as they look to be going from strength to strength in the league.

Their home form has been utterly impervious, too, having won each of their last five consecutive matches at Hillsborough by an aggregate scoreline of 12-0.

The Owls are six points clear of Bolton Wanderers in 3rd with two games in hand and are two points shy of Plymouth Argyle at the top with one game in hand so they look very well placed for a return to the Championship this season. For now, this is a game they should win without much difficulty.

MK Dons currently sit 20th in League One with eight wins, five draws and eighteen losses from thirty-one games this season.

Dons have had a bafflingly poor campaign this season after being expected by many to contest for automatic promotion coming into the new season. However, their reality has been drastically different as they find themselves firmly involved in the relegation battle with just a third of the season remaining.

They enter this game in typically poor form having won one, drawn one and lost three of their last five matches in the league, the most recent of which was a comprehensive 5-0 battering at the hands of Bolton Wanderers.

The defeat was a huge one for MK Dons and could have had fatal consequences for their confidence.

Their away form is slightly more encouraging, however, having won two of their last three league games on the road.

MK Dons were beaten 0-1 by Sheffield Wednesday when the two sides met in the league back in March, and given they will sacrifice home advantage here this will likely be a tough tie for them. Expect another defeat for MK Dons here, possibly by a large margin.

            Sheffield Wednesday Team News

Reece James and Ben Heneghan are both absent for the home side here, manager Darren Moore likely to name the same XI that beat Morecambe last time out.

            MK Dons Team News

MK Dons have no fresh injury concerns here and should have a fully fit squad to choose from.
