Stevenage vs. Exeter Prediction, Tips & Stats

A flying Stevenage side continue their excellent campaign this weekend as they face Exeter City.

Stevenage currently sit 3rd in League One with eleven wins, six draws and four losses from twenty-one games this season.

The newly promoted side are in dreamland at the minute as they mount an unexpected second consecutive promotion push following last season's promotion from League Two.

Almost nobody expected Stevenage to be 3rd heading into the Christmas period but they've been fantastic so far and they're coming into this game amidst an excellent run of league form, unbeaten in their last eight games having won four of their last five.

Their latest league outing saw them claim a handy three points in a 2-1 win away at Burton Albion thanks to goals from Kane Hemmings and Jamie Reid.

Their form at home has been decent too with the Boro having gone unbeaten in their last five games on home soil, winning three of those.

How long Stevenage can keep their excellent showings up remains to be seen, but there is currently no sign of them dropping off so the expectation should be that they're here to stay for the time being.

This is one of the kinder fixtures in the League One calendar so it should be one they take three points from.

Exeter City currently sit 20th in League One with five wins, three draws and eleven losses from nineteen games this season.

It's been a tough few months for an Exeter side that look primed for a relegation battle this season as they find themselves just two points clear of the relegation zone.

They're really struggling in terms of form as they enter this encounter winless in their last eleven games in the league, the most recent of which was a 0-1 loss against Port Vale.

The loss against Port Vale was a poor one for Exeter as their opponents came into the game winless in eleven games themselves so to lose on home soil against an out-of-sorts opponent very much confirms their status as a relegation contender.

They've lost three of their last four games and at present it's hard to see where their next three points will come from.

Even on good form this would be a massively tough game for Exeter to get a result from so in their current state expect them to fall to yet another defeat.

For our Stevenage vs. Exeter prediction, we're going for a 2-0 win for the home side.

        Stevenage Team News

Stevenage have no fresh injury issues for this game.

Daniel Sweeney, Jake Forster-Caskey, Nick Freeman and Kane Hemmings should all come back into the starting lineup following the penalty shootout win over Port Vale in the FA Cup in midweek.

        Exeter Team News

Will Aimson will serve a one-match suspension here following his red card against Port Vale and will therefore be unavailable.

James Scott and Kyle Taylor are both looking for a place in the starting lineup as Exeter look to shake things up amidst an abysmal run of form.
