Wycombe will be aiming to get back to winning ways this weekend as they are set to host MK Dons at Adams Park on Saturday afternoon.
The home side find themselves in 8th place in the League One table, just three points behind Bolton and Derby who occupy 5th and 6th place in the table respectively. Wycombe are in need of a spell of good results to ensure that they are in the playoff picture coming into the final couple weeks of the season.
The Chairboys are without a win in their last two league outings, having been beaten by Barnsley and having been held to a draw against Charlton last time out.
Miles Leaburn's first-half goal had put Charlton side on course for their first win at the Valley since mid-January, but Forino levelled nine minutes from time to salvage a share of the spoils for Wycombe.
MK Dons come into this match on the back of an impressive run of results which has seen the Dons record three consecutive wins for the first time this campaign. This run has seen the Dons climb into 19th place in the table, four points above the relegation zone.
Mark Jackson’s side have recorded three wins on the bounce and could record four consecutive wins for the first time since March 2022 when they recorded five straight wins. In all three of these victories, the Dons have managed to keep a clean sheet as the games have all finished 1-0.
Last time out, Mk Dons recorded a vital victory in their bid for League One survival as they narrowly defeated fellow strugglers, Morecambe. Jonathan Leko’s goal in the 57th minute proved the difference, as Mark Jackson’s men moved up to 19th and, crucially, four points clear of the bottom four.
MK Dons have a tough couple of fixtures approaching as they have to face Portsmouth and then Derby County, two sides who are both pushing for promotion. This spell of games will undoubtedly have a determining impact on MK Dons season.
It was Wycombe who narrowly came out on top of a tight game when these sides met in the reverse fixture earlier on in the season. Despite only having 37% of the game's possession, it was Wycombe who scored the only goal in the game thanks to a Nick Freeman strike at the back end of the first half.
Wycombe are odds on favourites at the bookies ahead of this weekend and are currently priced @ ⅚, whilst an away win for MK Dons is priced @ 3/1. Wycombe striker, Brandon Hanlan is the favourite to score in the game @ 2/1, whilst Mohamed Eisa is the favourite to score for MK Dons and is currently priced @ 11/4.
We are backing Mk Dons to win to nil because of their impressive record in this fixture in recent years. The Dons have only lost one of six Football League visits to Wycombe and they won this exact fixture last season 1-0. Also, MK Dons have shown impressive defensive form in recent weeks as they have managed to keep a clean sheet in their past three league outings.
