Two sides with hopes of mounting a playoff push in League Two meet this weekend as AFC Wimbledon meet Crawley Town.
AFC Wimbledon currently sit 10th in League Two with ten wins, nine draws and seven losses from twenty-six games this season.
The Dons have been having a much stronger campaign than they had last season and are only three points shy of the playoff places, so a top-seven finish is firmly on the cards.
They’re coming into this game amidst a period of fairly up-and-down form having won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five games, the most recent of which was a 2-0 loss to Wrexham.
The defeat away at Wrexham was by no means unexpected and was perfectly forgivable considering it came at the hands of one of the automatic promotion favourites.
Despite of their unreliability of late they’ve still been very strong on their own patch as they come into this game having won four of their last five games on home soil.
Wimbledon can achieve great things this season and they’ll be itching to get back to League One with this being their second season in League Two following relegation.
They still need to improve but there’s room to do so, and a win here would be a solid three points for the Dons.
Crawley Town currently sit 11th in League Two with twelve wins, three draws and twelve losses from twenty-seven games this season.
Like their opponents, Crawley are having a much-improved campaign following last season’s disaster and will be hoping they can kick on in pursuit of a playoff place.
They’re entering this game in decent form having won three and lost two of their last five games, the most recent of which was a 0-1 defeat to Salford City.
The loss to Salford was mightily disappointing for Crawley given they entered the game off the back of two very impressive wins on the bounce and were facing a side struggling greatly, but still ended up on the wrong side of the result.
They’ll now have to dust themselves off and go again as they look to make amends for the defeat, and they’ll probably be glad they’re doing that away from their own fans considering they’ve won three of their last four games on the road.
A win here would be a huge boost following last weekend’s defeat and given it’s against a side they’re level on points with it would give them a big leg up in the playoff race.
For our Wimbledon vs. Crawley prediction, we’re going for a 1-1 draw.
