Wimbledon vs Mansfield Prediction, Tips & Stats

League Two action carries on this weekend with a bunch of Football League teams parking their league form for FA Cup fourth round action, as Wimbledon plays hosts to Mansfield at the Cherry Red Records Stadium.

Mansfield's sensational form this season sees the club within just three points of Stockport County in first place and only one behind Wrexham in second. A chance to jump into League One is certainly on the cards for the club after over a decade in League Two.

They are also sitting with the best defensive record in the league with only 22 goals let in, while Mansfield have managed to lose only twice this season. This has seen them lose to Crewe Alexandra at home and also suffer a defeat to Swindon Town back in November.

In fact, after doing the double over Stockport County and recording wins away to Notts County, Mansfield should be considered as arguably the favourite for promotion this season.

On the other hand, the club are winless since that fantastic win over Stockport County back on New Year's Day, as they have managed to draw 1-1 with Morecambe and Sutton United alongside that defeat to Crewe Alexandra.

As for Wimbledon, they have dropped into 10th right now after recent losses sees the club winless in January in the league. A New Year's Day draw with Forest Green has also come in alongside a 2-0 defeat to Wrexham and a 3-1 loss to MK Dons.

The Dons' only victory in 2024 so far has seen them beat Oxford United 2-0 in the Football League Trophy, as James Tilley scored a goal in either half. A further loss came in against Ipswich Town in the FA Cup at home, but the poor form in the league as of late has dropped the club to four points off the playoff spots, as Notts County sit with three more wins in seventh than they do.

        Wimbledon team news

Wimbledon will be without paul Kalambayi and Husein Biler, who were both sent off in the loss to MK Dons. Lee Brown and Harry Pell likely come in for those two.

        Mansfield team news

Mansfield excellent run of form has also seen them be quite fortunate on the injury front. As of now, there are no new injuries to deal with.
