Wimbledon and Tranmere Rovers have very little to play in their match at the Cherry Red Records Stadium with the home side coming into this one mathematically safe from relegation after last weekend with Tranmere eyeing up a top half finish.
Wimbledon come into this one after a stunning home loss to Swindon Town where the club led after eight minutes from defender Aaron Pierre. He was sent off in the final few minutes of the game that saw Wimbledon lose 5-1. It was also the third defeat in a row for Johnnie Jackson's men after a 2-1 loss to Stevenage and a 3-2 loss from Salford City.
Jackson's side now sit with just two games left to play and come into the game with an eight-point gap on Hartlepool United, meaning they are mathematically free from relegation. Nevertheless, they come into this one with a possibility of still dropping into 22nd with Crawley Town just two points behind them.
The Dons can still finish as high as 14th, but they will need a lot of results to go their way and for them to win their last two games.
Tranmere are in 12th and are aiming to secure a spot in the top half of the table this weekend with a win. The club defeated Grimsby Town last time out in the league.
