Crewe vs. Bradford Prediction, Tips & Stats

Crewe Alexandra are looking to get back to winning ways as they face Bradford City in League Two on New Year’s Day.

Crewe Alexandra currently sit 8th in League Two with ten wins, eight draws and six losses from twenty-four games this season.

The Alex had been going strong up until a few weeks back, but a steep dip in form has seen them slide out of the playoff places.

They’re coming into this one in very poor shape, winless in their last six games having lost three of their last five.

Most recently, Crewe had to settle for a 1-1 draw away at Newport County after Newport pegged the Alex back in the second half after they took the lead through Chris Long.

The draw against a fairly struggling Newport side was not a great result for Crewe and they’re looking less and less like serious playoff contenders by the week, with their impressive start becoming a distant memory.

Crewe’s home form has been pretty decent as they come into this game having won two, drawn one and lost one of their last four games on home soil, so they can be hopeful of starting to turn things around here.

It’s a tough game for the Alex but if they consider themselves genuine playoff contenders then it should be far from unwinnable.

Bradford City currently sit 11th in League Two with nine wins, seven draws and eight losses in twenty-four games this season.

The Bantams have had an underwhelming season on the whole, or the second year running, but recent developments suggest things may yet still be salvageable.

They’re entering this game unbeaten in their last six game, winning four of those, the most recent of which was a 0-0 draw against Stockport County.

A point at home to the side top of the league is a pretty decent result for the Bantams who will now hope to use that to kick on with three points here.

They’ve now drawn two home games in a row but their away form has been infallible, as they come into this game having won all of their last three games on the road.

They will, then, fancy their chances here massively against a side very much out of form.

For our Crewe vs. Bradford prediction, we’re going for a 2-1 win for the away side.

            Crewe Betting Tip

Matus Holicek and Charlie Colkett are both confirmed absentees for the home side, while Conor Thomas and Joel Tabiner are both doubtful.

Shilow Tracey and Ryan Cooney will be pushing for a spot in the starting lineup for this one.

            Bradford Team News

Alex Pattison and Jamie Walker are both set to miss out for the Bantams once again who are looking to maintain their unbeaten run.

Vadaine Oliver could be in line for a recall after Bradford drew a blank in front of goal against Stockport last time out.
