Crawley Town travel to Priestfield to take on Gillingham this Boxing Day. Both sides are lamenting in the mid table of League Two where many of the teams outside of the Play-offs and the relegation zone are barely separated by more than 12 points.
Gillingham currently sit 11th in League Two after 22 games. The Gills have ten wins, two draws and ten losses, leaving them on 32 points, just four points from the final Play-off place.

Rob Apter’s brace and a goal from Connor Jennings gave Tranmere the 3 - 0 lead going into the last 30 minutes of the game. Connor Mahoney did get Gillingham on the scoresheet, but this was in the 91st minute and Gillingham slumped to a 3 - 1 loss. However, Gillingham bounced back against Wimbledon next time out. Conor Masterson scored the only goal of the game in the 85th minute to give Gillingham the 1 - 0 win.
In the Second round of the FA Cup, Gillingham hosted Charlton Athletic. Macauley Bonne and Timothee Dieng both scored in the first half as Gillingham held on for the second half for the 2 - 0 win. Back in League Two, Gillingham took on Bradford City. Jamie Walker and Andy Cook both scored in the 2 - 0 win for Bradford where Gillingham had just one shot on target.
The last time out for Gillingham was against Forest Green Rovers. Despite having 60% of the possession and 11 shots, Gillingham could not find the back of the net and had to settle for a goalless draw.

However, Jim O’Brien and Junior Morias both scored in the second half to give Notts County the 3 - 1 win. In the Second round of the Football League Trophy, Crawley hosted Bristol Rovers. Luke Thomas opened the scoring for Bristol Rovers, but Jack Roles and Harry Forster both scored in the second half to give Crawley the 2 - 1 win over ten-man Rovers, who had James Gibbons sent off late on.
Back in League Two, Crawley took on Colchester. Liam Kelly gave Crawley the lead just before halftime and a penalty from Danilo Orsi doubled Crawley’s lead. Joe Taylor did score for Colchester, but in the 97th minute, meaning Crawley held on for the 2 - 1 win. Orsi was on the scoresheet again from the penalty spot, but along with the red card to Jay Williams, Baily Cargill, KD Davis and George Maris all scored in the 3 - 1 win for Mansfield Town.
The most recent outing for Crawley was against Wimbledon. Josh Davison and Ali Al-Hamadi gave Wimbledon the 2 - 0 lead early on but the red card against Joe Lewis gave Will Wright the opportunity to get on the scoresheet. However, ten-man Wimbledon held on for the 2 - 1 win.
