Two sides bidding for a spot in the top 10 this season will meet with one another at Blundell Park with Grimsby Town now up into 14th after a dramatic win over the weekend with Mansfield Town still eyeing up the playoffs this season.
It's been a topsy-turvy season for Mansfield all campaign long and their 1-1 draw with Rochdale all but summed up their inconsistencies this season as they managed to hammer Crawley Town 4-1 and beat Swindon Town 4-2 before that draw.
Nevertheless, the men from Field Mill are still in seventh and have a game in hand over Salford City in seventh and have to deal with just a one-point gap on the Greater Manchester side.
It now means they come into this game with a chance to jump back into the playoff ranks, although they do now sit five points behind Stevenage in fifth. At the same time, Nigel Clough's men are ahead of Barrow in ninth by four points and they should, at the very least, secure a top 10 spot.
Grimsby managed to edge past Doncaster Rovers on the road last time in what was a huge win for them in terms of getting closer to the top half of the table. They did fall behind in the first half, but Niall Maher scored in the 85th minute before George Llyod won it for the Town in the 96th minute.
They did stunningly lose at home to Hartlepool United last Friday, however, as the Monkey Hangers beat them 4-1 not long after Bradford City beat the club 3-2 with Grimsby also drawing with Crawley Town 1-1 at the end of March.
It does put them in 14th and within touching distance of the top half of the table, but a loss here could break their hopes of doing so. As for Mansfield, they must win if they want to get back into playoff contention.
