Leyton Orient will be looking to take another giant leap towards the League Two title this weekend when the club opens their doors to Swindon Town with the away side all the way outside of the playoff spots after a tough 2023.
Despite a terrible run of form so far this year, Swindon are coming into this one with two wins on the bounce. This has seen them defeat Salford City away from home in what was one of their best results of the season, just as the club defeated Harrogate Town 3-0 last time out in League Two. Prior to this, however, they did go on a four-game unbeaten run, as Swindon drew 3-3 with Gillingham before losing to Newport County, Doncaster Rovers and Sutton United.
Swindon are now boasting of 13 wins from 32 games in League Two with nine draws and 10 losses in the league too. They've also scored 43 times and let in 35 ahead of the game, but their chances of getting back into the playoffs for another season are far from over. Jody Morris' men are now behind Salford City and Mansfield Town by four points in the race for the top seven.
As for Leyton Orient, they come into this one with one hand on the League Two title after collecting 71 points from 34 games. The London side currently sit ahead of Carlisle United in second by 13 points with them winning 21 games from 34 games and losing only five times in League Two. Although a few clubs have netted more goals than Orient, they do come into this one with just 21 goals conceded and no side has let in fewer.
The league leaders did fall to a draw last time out, however, as Grimsby Town drew 2-2 with them after defeating Crawley Town 1-0 and Rochdale 2-1. In fact, Orient are currently on a six-game unbeaten run after also beating Wimbledon and Crewe Alexandra since a 1-0 loss to Tranmere Rovers and Stevenage.
