Swindon Town are looking to keep up their stunning run of unbeaten form in League Two this weekend when they head to the Mazuma Stadium to meet with a Morecambe side desperate for a win.
Morecambe were thrashed 3-0 in midweek by Liverpool U21s and have now managed to secure just one win in the past four games since mid-August. This has seen the club lose to Harrogate Town and Gillingham in the league where Ferrend Rawson and Michael Mellon were both sent off - Mellon also bagged against Gillingham in that 2-1 loss.
The only victory in this time for the Shrimps saw Mellon bag again with a finish in the first half of a home win over Salford City. Morecambe have also beaten Bradford City within the past month with a convincing 3-0. Mellon scored twice that day with a goal in either half, as JJ McKiernan netted too in what was easily Morecambe's best performance of the season.
The other win for Morecambe this season saw them record an opening day win over Walsall, as they've drawn with Notts County and lost to Mansfield Town too. Their recent EFL Trophy loss to Liverpool U21s has also been coupled with an exit from the EFL Cup at the first round stage to Rotherham United.
As for Swindon, they are the highest-scoring side across all of the EFL right now with a stunning 22 goals in only seven games an an unbeaten record. In fact, with a game in hand to play, a victory in that match could see them move to first in the table and above Gillingham.
Swindon have now scored five goals in a game on three occasions already, beating Crewe Alexandra in a stunning 6-0 win that saw Jake Young net four goals in a game - this is only the third time a player has done this in the past six seasons of League Two. He also scored a hat-trick in the 5-5 draw with Wrexham and bagged a brace in the 5-3 win over Sutton United.
Charlie Austin has only scored two of Swindon's tally in League Two, netting in the recent 2-0 victory over Walsall.
