Newport vs. Crewe Prediction, Tips & Stats

We have a mid-table clash in League Two this weekend as Newport County face Crewe Alexandra.

Newport County currently sit 15th in League Two with fourteen wins, fourteen draws and seventeen losses from forty-five games this season.

Newport have had a forgettable campaign in League Two having spent the majority of it in the bottom half, batting to stay clear of the relegation scrap.

They enter this game in mixed form having won three and lost two of their last five matches, the most recent of which was a 2-1 win away at Gillingham.

Their form at home has been mixed having won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five games on home soil but having lost their last two on the bounce there should be some concern over their resolve here.

Like most sides, Newport will want to end the season positively as they look to build towards what they hope will be a much more enjoyable campaign next time out.

Crewe Alexandra currently sit 13th in League Two with fourteen wins, fifteen draws and sixteen losses from forty-five games this season.

The Alex have had a pretty poor season following relegation from League One last time out but and their fans will no doubt be glad to see the back of this campaign having spent almost its entirety in the bottom half of the table.

They enter this game amidst a fairly solid run of form by their standards having won three and lost two of their last five games, the most recent of which was a 3-2 win over Bradford City courtesy of a Chris Long penalty in the 11th minute of stoppage time.

Their form away from home has been pretty weak, however, with Crewe winning just one of their last fourteen games on the road having lost their last three on the bounce by a combined scoreline of 8-0.

Crewe were beaten 1-2 by Newport when the two sides met back in December so they'll want get one back here.

It should be a competitive encounter but given both sides have nothing to play for it's not an easy one to predict.

For our Newport vs. Crewe prediction, we're going for a 2-2 draw.

          Crewe Team News
