Newport County are back at Rodney Parade to welcome MK Dons to South Wales as the away side aims to move deeper into the top half of the table after a two-game winning run in League Two.
It's been a tough return to action down in the fourth tier for the Dons, but after winning their past two games in the league, they are heading into the top half and are currently sitting in 12th. Last time out, they edged past the high-flying top scorers Swindon Town, as Warren O'Hara and Max Dean got a goal each before an own goal won it for them.
MK Dons also beat Bradford City with ease before this, as Dean got another goal alongside finishes in the first half from Jack Payne and Joe Tomlinson. Alex Gilbey added a fourth in what was easily the Dons' best display of the season after having 11 shots on target from 18 efforts.
However, despite the better form in the league, they were beaten by Reading 3-2 in the last outing and are our of the FA Cup at the first round stage. Gilbey and Dean got back amongst the goals that day, but MK Dons never led the game and struggled at times against the League One side.
As for Newport, they got back to winning ways after a loss at home to West Ham United U21s, as the club defeated Oldham Athletic in the FA Cup first round thanks to a goal in either half from Shane McLoughlin.
Back in the league, it's been yet another struggle for County. They have lost eight times already, let in the most goals for those outside of the relegation zone (32), and now head into this match with only five victories from 16 outings. They have, however, scored an impressive 26, which is the most for those in the bottom half.
