Rochdale and Stevenage will battle in League Two this weekend as one club fights for survival just as the other aims to get themselves into League One for next season with 24th taking on second at the Crown Oil Arena.
An almighty 32 points separate these two sides heading into this game in Greater Manchester as Rochdale continue to sit at the foot of the table without much hope of getting out of the bottom two. Worse yet, the club have no games in hand to play and every side above them in the bottom six besides Hartlepool have at least one extra game to play.
Rochdale drew 1-1 with Crewe Alexandra last time out, and they now head into this with another goal from Jimmy Keohane. This was just the first point Jim Bentley's side have picked up in the past few weeks, as they also lost to Leyton Orient, Gillingham and Stockport County in February.
As for Stevenage, they have jumped back into second after a win for them last weekend against Wimbledon, just as Carlisle United and Northampton Town dropped points each. They do, however, sit behind Leyton Orient by nine points still and the aim for Stevenage is to merely remain in the top two for the time being and keep ahead of the in-form sides below them.
The win for Stevenage did end a winless run of six games since beating Leyton Orient in a stunning 3-0 win, as Stoke City beat them in the FA Cup, while they drew with Newport County and Sutton United, just as the club lost to Tranmere Rovers, Stockport County and Bradford City.
