Salford vs Wrexham Prediction, Tips & Stats

The Red Dragons travel to the Peninsula on Saturday, where they will face an in-form Salford City. Last time the two teams met, the Ammies took a two-goal lead before Wrexham completed the comeback with two late goals.

          Salford City

Salford City have been in excellent form in recent weeks, and they’re now unbeaten in all of their last four matches. Last time out, they picked up a huge 3-2 away win over Crewe, with two goals from Matt Smith taking his tally to 18 for the season.

Salford have only won twice in 13 home games all season, which gives them the second worst home record in the league. This has kept them 19th in League Two. The Ammies are slightly vulnerable at the back, conceding 1.76 goals per game while only netting 1.34 themselves.

          Wrexham

On the whole, Wrexham’s form as of late has been very good, but they have had the odd loss dotted around the wins. Their last game in League Two was a 1-0 defeat to Newport County after an early red card cost them. On Monday, they were also defeated 4-1 by Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup.

The Red Dragons are usually free-flowing in attack, as highlighted by their average goals per game of 2.00. They’re also relatively solid defensively, conceding just 1.37. At the end of the season, Wrexham will be challenging for an automatic promotion spot, and they’re currently second in the table.

          Verdict?

Regardless of Salford’s recent form, Wrexham should have enough to pick up a win here.

They’ll also be desperate to end their slight blip, which will be the pre-match focus.

The final prediction is Salford 1-3 Wrexham.

          Salford Team News

          Wrexham Team News

The same team that lost against Blackburn should start again, with Paul Mullin, Elliot Lee, and Ben Tozer all starting.
