Tranmere Rovers will take on Crawley Town at Prenton Park this Tuesday evening with the two clubs separated by a huge points tally as the worries of the away side continue to take over the fans' minds with them now rooted into the relegation zone.
Tranmere are up into 13th ahead of this one in the League Two table with them in arguably the best stint of form they've been in all campaign long. After a narrow 1-0 win over Stevenage, Tranmere have also put on record arguably their best win of the season, as Joshua Stuart Hawkes scored a goal in the second half of the game from the penalty spot. The Prenton Park faithful did, however, witness a 2-0 defeat to Mansfield Town last time out on home soil, as they were also beaten by Bradford City just prior to that. Tranmere would beat Salford City 1-0 just prior to that.
Oddly enough, Tranmere are the only side this season to beat the two sides in the top two this campaign, as they defeated Leyton Orient 1-0 at home just a month before the win over Stevenage.
The Merseyside outfit are now behind the top seven playoff spots by eight points, as they continue to march up the league table. Firstly, they will be eyeing up the top half of the table, as a win here would take them above Doncaster Rovers into 12th and even above Barrow in 11th, if they lose to Salford at the same time.
Crawley are coming into this one off the back of yet another loss in the league, which now makes it three defeats in a row for the club and five winless games since their 3-2 win over Salford City. The club remain rooted in the relegation zone as a result, with them on 26 points from 30 games. With them playing so fewer games to this point, however, Crawley have four games in hand over Hartlepool United in 22nd and two games extra to play over Harrogate Town in 21st.
