Tranmere vs. Salford Prediction, Tips & Stats

For our Tranmere vs. Salford prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.

Salford City are looking to continue their good form as they travel to face Tranmere Rovers in League Two this weekend.

Tranmere Rovers are currently 14th in League Two with ten wins, eight draws and ten losses from twenty-eight games this season.

Micky Mellon's side have been up and down this season in terms of form with their consistency failing them for the most part as they low look destined for a tame mid-table finish.

Tranmere enter this game in the midst of a concerning run of form having won one, drawn two and lost two of their last five league matches having now lost their last two consecutively.

Most recently, Tranmere fell to a 2-0 defeat at Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday night in a game they will have been disappointed not to take anything from having dominated possession and registered more shots on target.

Their home record still looks encouraging here, however, with Mellon's boys having won two and drawn two of their last four games on home soil.

Tranmere are still only four points shy of the play-off spots but their reality feels as though much further adrift of being able to clinch a top seven spot. Never say never, but this game is looking tough on paper for Tranmere.

Salford City currently sit 5th in League Two with fourteen wins, six draws and nine losses from twenty-nine games this season.

Salford's form has wavered at times this season and having tailed off after a strong start it looked as though they might fall just short of the play-offs, but having turned their form around once more they now look in excellent shape heading into the business end of the season.

They enter this game amidst a strong run of form having won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five league matches, the most recent of which was a 2-1 win over Rochdale.

The win at Rochdale means Salford have now won two on the bounce and they'll see this as a good opportunity to make it three in a row.

The trouble for Salford is that they struggle much more away from home having lost three and drawn one of their last four league games on the road.

Salford were also beating 0-1 by Tranmere when the two sides met in the league back in September so there's concern as to how well they match up with their opponents.

Regardless, Salford are looking in good shape and they face a side out of form. If they're going to turn their away form around this would be a good place to start.
