Walsall and Wimbledon will meet this weekend in League Two with the home side three places behind the Dons in the league table after dodgy starts from both teams puts them outside of the top 10 after a handful of games.
Just like last season, it's been another troubling start for Walsall. They come into this game having won three and lost three too, scoring 11 goals and conceding 13 too. The club were beaten by Swindon Town last time out after Salford City managed to fall to a loss to Walsall for what was the latter's first away win of the season.
Walsall also beat Colchester United before that and also managed to draw 1-1 with Grimsby Town before that. The losses for the Midlands side so far have seen them lose to Wrexham 4-1 and also lose to Morecambe in the league before an EFL Cup first round win over Blackburn Rovers. Walsall also suffered a defeat in the Football League Trophy to Brighton U21s.
This puts the club down in 14th after eight games and they are only behind the top 12 of the table by goals difference having scored fewer than Newport County.
As for Wimbledon, they come into this game up in 11th and on the same points as Walsall too. The only difference keeping the Dons ahead of them is the fact they have managed to score 12 times and let in eight goals. On the other hand, Wimbledon have drawn the most games in the division with five so far from eight games, while they have also managed to lose only once but win two matches.
It's going to be a close game given how there is very little separating the two sides right now. Wimbledon will fancy their chances given how they are higher in the table because of a better goals difference, but either way, we expect both teams to score.
