Ajaccio vs. Marseille Prediction, Tips & Stats

Already relegated Ajaccio are hoping to salvage some pride as they face Marseille in Ligue 1 this weekend.

Ajaccio currently sit 19th in Ligue 1 with six wins, five draws and twenty-six losses from thirty-seven games this season.

It's been an utterly dismal campaign for an Ajaccio side who have been relegated without a whimper as they currently sit twelve points shy of safety.

They're coming into this game in awful form having failed to win any of their last twelve matches, having also lost four of their last five.

Their most recent game saw them slump to a 3-0 defeat to Lens, a result that means they've now lost their last three games by a combined scoreline of 13-0.

Their home form is slightly more encouraging having taken two points from their last three on home soil, but it's still nothing to shout about given they've won just one of their last ten at home.

Ajaccio fans will be glad to have seen the back of this dismal season but they must now prepare for life in Ligue 2, something they wanted to avoid at all cost.

All they have to play for is pride but, unfortunately for them, it feels highly unlikely that they will have enough to overcome Marseille here.

Marseille currently sit 3rd in Ligue 1 with twenty-two wins, seven draws and eight losses from thirty-seven games this season.

Marseille have had a very solid campaign this time out even if they will feel it could have been better with a poor end to the season effectively seeing them sacrifice 2nd place.

They're coming into this game out of form having lost three of their last five matches, the most recent of which was a very poor 1-2 loss at home to Brest.

Their form away from home has been mixed too, with Marseille coming into this game having won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five games on the road.

Marseille were beaten 1-2 by Ajaccio back in October, so at the very least they'll be looking to claim some revenge here.

Marseille are already locked into 3rd place so this game will have no impact on their standing at the end of the season, but they'll be desperate to end on a win given their poor form late in the campaign.

For our Ajaccio vs. Marseille prediction, we're going for a 2-0 win for the away side.
