Reims vs. Montpellier Prediction, Tips & Stats

Reims end their Ligue 1 season hoping for a top half finish as they face Montpellier this weekend.

Reims currently sit 11th in Ligue 1 with twelve wins, fifteen draws and ten losses from thirty-seven games this season.

Reims have had a solid campaign in Ligue 1 this season under their highly rated young manager Will Still, and with a top half finish in reach they'll be desperate to end it with three points here.

They're coming into this game in poor form, though, with Still's team having won just one of their last last eight matches having also failed to win any of their last three.

Their most recent outing saw them fall to a comfortable 3-0 defeat away at Lyon.

While still not great, their form at home is slightly more promising having won one, drawn two and lost one of their last four games on home soil.

There may be a bitter feeling amongst Reims fans at how their form fell off so sharply towards the end of the season as they could have achieved much more, but a top half finish would still represent a fine campaign for this group.

Montpellier currently sit 12th in Ligue 1 with fourteen wins, five draws and eighteen losses from thirty-seven games this season.

It's been a solid season form Montpellier who have effectively cruised towards a mid-table finish, and while it's been unremarkable in terms of achievement they'll feel they have given themselves a platform from which to build over the summer.

They're coming into this game amidst a mixed run of form having won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five games, the most recent of which was a 2-3 defeat at home to Nice.

Their form away from home has been pretty good in recent weeks having won two of their last three on the road, the most recent of which was a 3-0 win over Nantes.

These two sides shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw when they met back in November and it feels fair to expect a similarly tight encounter this time around.

In fact, do not ben surprised if we see the exact same scoreline.

For our Reims vs. Montpellier prediction, we're going for a 1-1 draw.
