Austin vs. Sporting Kansas City Prediction, Tips & Stats

We've got an intriguing tie in MLS this weekend as Texas side Austin FC welcome Sporting Kansas City to Q2 Stadium.

Austin FC currently sit 6th in MLS's Western Conference with eight wins, five draws and nine losses from twenty-two games this season.

The side from Texas have had a solid campaign thus far as they work towards eventually finishing the Final Series positions ahead of what they hope will be a successful postseason.

They're coming into this game in good form overall having won three, drawn one and lost one of their last five matches, but there might be some concern amongst the fanbase having lost their most recent match.

Austin fell to a 2-1 defeat to Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday night and will desperately want to make immediate amends in order to exorcise the lingering disappointment.

They can still take confidence from their form at home, however, having won three of their last four matches on home soil including both of their last two by a combined scoreline of 6-0.

Austin are in good form here and are looking to surge up the table, and while Sporting KC may provide a solid test it's not a game they should fail to win.

Sporting KC currently sit 11th in MLS's Western Conference with six wins, eight draws and ten losses from twenty-four games this season.

It's been a poor season for Sporting KC thus far who are failing to make their mark on the Western Conference as they sit outside of the postseason places having played more games than all of the sides around them.

They're coming into this game out of form, too, having won just one of their last five matches, drawing three and losing one of the other four.

Their form away from home has been even worse, with Sporting KC having failed to win any of their last five games on the road.

They can at least take comfort from the fact they beat Austin 4-1 when the two sides last met back in June, even if they did lose all of the prior three head-to-head meetings.

Sporting KC need to turn their season around as soon as possible if they are to achieve anything meaningful this campaign and three points here would be a huge step in the right direction.

Unfortunately, that outcome looks unlikely given the form of the two sides so expect a home win from this game.

For our Austin vs. Sporting KC prediction, we're going for a 3-1 win for the home side.
