Two Eastern Conference giants will clash this weekend with Columbus Crew set to meet with New York City in Ohio with the home side sitting up in fourth after another unbeaten run of form just as the Pigeons continue to struggle.
Despite sitting outside of the playoff spots for the most part of the MLS season, New York did manage to beat Montreal last weekend to end a 12-game winless run for them - it was the longest winless run in MLS this season. They dropped more points in midweek, however, after a 1-1 draw with Charlotte, as the club have also drawn with Portland Timbers and Atlanta United in recent weeks, alongside more draws with Real Salt Lake and New England.
These two sides did meet just under a month ago in what was another draw with New York to deal with. Christian Ramirez scored again that day for Columbus, but the headlines were stolen by a 94th-minute equaliser from Gabriel Segal.
As for the Crew, they are up to fourth after extending their unbeaten run to seven games since a 3-1 loss to Nashville. In this time, the Crew have beat Charlotte, Colorado Rapids, Chicago Fire, Nashville and New York Red Bulls. They have also drawn with New York, of course, while drawing with Inter Miami last time out.
