Columbus Crew vs. New York Red Bulls Prediction, Tips & Stats

Columbus Crew are hoping to build on an impressive season as they face New York Red Bulls this weekend.

Columbus Crew currently sit 5th in MLS's Eastern Conference with nine wins, four draws and six losses from nineteen games so far this season.

They've had a very impressive campaign thus far as they sit firmly in the postseason places and they'll be hoping to maintain that Leven until the end of the regular season to enter the Eastern play-offs with momentum on their side.

They're coming into this game amidst a very strong run of form having won four and drawn one of their last five matches, the most recent of which was a 2-0 win over Nashville SC.

Their form at home has been equally strong too, with Columbus unbeaten in their last five on home soil having won their last four on the bounce.

Columbus are in a very strong position but they could do with finding a bit more consistency given their form has been somewhat streaky this season.

They're the firm favourites for this game, though, and in front of their own fans they should be confident of taking three points.

New York Red Bulls currently sit 11th in MLS's Easter Conference with five wins, eight draws and six losses from nineteen games this season.

It's been a fairly mediocre campaign from the New York side so far this season but they still find themselves well placed to win a run at the final series places in the coming games even if they have underwhelmed somewhat.

They're coming into this game amidst as mixed run of form having won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five games.

They did, though, register an emphatic win in their latest outing as they thumped Atlanta United 4-0 on home soil.

Their form away from home is a concern here though, with New York RB winning just one of their last five games away from home - a 1-0 win at Inter Miami, the worst side in MLS.

New York RB did actually beat Columbus 2-1 back in March but as they travel away from home, and given the form of the two sides, this will likely be a notably different game and one the away side will find it difficult to take three points from.

For our Columbus Crew vs. New York Red Bulls prediction, we're going for a 2-0 win for the home side.

          Columbus Crew Team News

Will Sands is a long-term absentee for the home side while Milos Degenek is is a major doubt for this encounter.

Cucho Hernandez has been in good form for Columbus this season having scored four goals while accruing five assists, so he'll be looking to stamp his mark on this game.

New York Red Bulls Team News

New York Red Bulls will have to make do without Serge Ngoma, Lewis Morgan and Steven Sserwadda as a result of various injury problems while Dante Vanzeir and Dylan Nealis are both doubtful.

John Tolkin and Cory Burke are also both absent on Gold Cup duty so the away side are significantly weakened here.
