Minnesota United vs. Austin FC Prediction, Tips & Stats

Austin FC continue to try to force their way into the Final Series places in MLS as they face Minnesota United this weekend.

Minnesota United currently sit 11th in MLS's Western Conference with six wins, six draws and seven losses from nineteen games this season.

It's been an overall disappointing campaign from Minnesota thus far having been unable to build up a head of steam across their opening half of the season.

They're coming into this game amidst a poor run of form, too, having won just one of their last five games in MLS.

That win, however, came in their most recent game as Minnesota romped to a resounding 4-1 win over Portland Timbers.

The win was a much-needed one for Minnesota and they'll now hope to use it as a springboard for further wins as they attempt to edge closer to the postseason places.

While their overall form is poor, their form on home soil has been decent of late having gone unbeaten in their last five on their own turf, winning two of their last four.

A second win on the bounce would do wonders for Minnesota United and their fans should be optimistic heading into this one as it feels like a game that could go either way.

Austin FC currently sit 8th in MLS's Western Conference with seven wins, five draws and eight losses from twenty games this season.

The Texas side have had a pretty mediocre campaign like their opponents in that they'll failed to assert their presence on Western Conference with their eventual qualification for the postseason very much in the balance at this stage.

They're coming into this game amidst a strong run of form, however, having taken seven points from their last three games, a run that includes two consecutive 3-0 victories.

Their most recent game did produce a slightly disappointing result, with Austin held to a 1-1 draw against Inter Miami but nevertheless they're still entering this game in good shape.

There is, though, some real concern surrounding their form away from home with the boys from Texas having won just one of their last five games on the road, taking just one point from their last three.

A win here would be a big one for the away side as it could potentially bring themselves into the top seven.

It seems an evenly matched encounter but Austin's away form could be their downfall.

For our Minnesota vs. Austin prediction, we're going for a 2-1 win for the home side.
