Minnesota United vs. Los Angeles FC Prediction, Tips & Stats

Sunday sees a fun encounter in MLS as high-flying LAFC travel to face Minnesota United.

Minnesota United currently sit 10th in MLS's Western Conference with seven wins, six draws and eight losses from twenty-one games this season.

Minnesota have been up and down in terms of form during this campaign having failed to nail down any sort of consistency, but they've given their fans several moments of encouragement that would suggest they're still capable of achieving something this season.

They're coming into this game amidst a very promising run of form having lost just one of their last five matches while winning three of their last four.

Their most recent encounter saw them claim a huge 3-0 win away t Houston Dynamo, a massive win given the circumstances and one they'll hope will spur a consistent run of victories.

Their form at home has been solid of late too, with Minnesota having lost just one of their last five games on home soil.

Minnesota are still looking to kick on this season but recent results suggest they're very much heading in the right direction.

Another win here would be huge for their confidence and momentum given their opponents' standing in the league and three points for Minnesota would not be a huge shock.

Los Angeles FC currently sit 2nd in MLS's Western Conference with ten wins, six draws and six losses from twenty-two games this season.

LAFC have been flying in MLS this season as they now look to keep the pressure on St. Louis at the top of the Western Conference.

They have, though, faltered significantly in terms of form in recent weeks having won just one of their last five games, losing three of them.

Their most recent game saw them thump 1st place St. Louis City 3-0 on home soil, a huge result given it was a top of the table clash and they entered the game having failed to win any of their four prior matches.

After such a seismic win they will now hope they can kick on and progress towards a long run of victories.

Their form away from home has not been all that encouraging of late, however, with the LA side having won one and lost four of their last five games on the road.

These two sides have been very evenly matched in recent encounters with both sides having won one of the last six head-to-head meetings with the other four games ending in a draw.

LAFC will be desperate to capitalise on the momentum from their resounding win over St. Louis so another draw would not serve them well.

Their away form does not fill one with much confidence here, however, so a draw may just be what they're forced to settle for.

For our Minnesota vs. LAFC prediction, we're going for a 2-2 draw.

          Minnesota Team News

Minnesota's injury list is one of the longest in MLS as they enter this game without Emmanuel Iwe, Sang-bin Jeong, Franco Fragapane, Mikael Marques, Kemar Lawrence, Robin Lod and Ryen Jiba.

Teemu Pukki notched a goal on his debut for the club against Houston last time out, so he'll be hoping to make it two in two at a minimum here.

          LAFC Team News

Maxime Crepeau is unlikely to be fit enough in time for this one while Jesus Murillo and Sergi Palencia are both confirmed absentees through injury.

Aaron Long may come into the starting XI for this one after returning from international duty at the Gold Cup.
