Philadelphia Union will welcome Montreal to Pennsylvania this weekend with the club beginning to look more like their former selves after another win during the week just as Montreal aim to keep up their fight for a top eight spot.
It was a bit of a struggle for the Union after the first few weeks of action in MLS but it now heads into this game having secured an eight-game unbeaten run The Union narrowly beat Charlotte 1-0 during the week after a victory came through an own goal midway through the second half. Daniel Gazdag and Julian Carranza - the Union's usual go-to men - could not get going that game and they needed a bit of luck in order to secure all three points.
Prior to this, Philadelphia defeated New York City 3-1 and beat New England Revolution 3-0. After also drawing 0-0 with D.C. United, it now means just one goal has come in during the past four games for the Union while scoring seven of their own.
Combine this with their lengthy unbeaten run and it now means the club head into this game with eight wins from 15 games, just three draws and only four losses too. What's more, it is beginning to look more like the team that won the Eastern Conference title last year after scoring 24 goals in 15 games.
As for Montreal, they have also begun to turn things around in the past few weeks. They are sitting 10th in the table and only behind the likes of D.C. United just above them by one point while also having a game in hand on Wayne Rooney's men. Nevertheless, they have now lost eight times in MLS this season and only Inter Miami has lost more games than them in the Eastern Conference.
The Canadian side drew 2-2 with D.C. during the week, but it has defeated Forge and Inter Miami in the past 10 days too.
It should be a fairly comfortable win for the Union this weekend.
