Portland Timbers vs FC Dallas Prediction, Tips & Stats

Dallas are aiming to keep up their sensational form in recent weeks when they meet with Portland Timbers at Providence Park with the Hoops coming into this one having defeated the Western Conference leaders in the last game.

Jesus Ferreira was back amongst the goals in that 2-0 win over St. Louis City and it has now brought the club to within just two points of St. Louis at the top of the table. Dallas are now sitting fourth in the table with seven wins on the board, five losses and five draws too.

What's more, they've managed to score 21 times this season and only Los Angeles, Vancouver Whitecaps and St. Louis have netted more in the Western Conference so far.

The men from Texas have also defeated Austin and Vancouver in the past month and have well established themselves a side to watch out for in the playoffs so far this campaign.

As for Portland, they have been struggling once more this season and come into this game with four wins from 16 outngs and seven losses on the board too. The club have now let in 24 goals so far this campaign and only Real Salt Late, Colorado Rapids and LA Galaxy have let in more goals this season in the Western Conference.

            Portland Timbers team news

Niezgoda is set to feature in the sole attacking role for the Timbers in this one, as Daniel Aspiralla and Moreno sit on the wings with Evander in the attacking midfield role. Paredes and Chara should remain in the midfield. Bravo, McGraw and Miller should feature in defence, but we could see Franck Boli and Marvin Loria get minutes in this game after missing the last outing. Seb Blanco is alo back with the squad and may start. David Bingham likely misses out in goal once more for Ivacic after he got another clean sheet in an away trip to Seattle Sounders.

            Dallas team news

Jesus Ferreira was back amongst the goals last time out for Dallas in a sensational win over St. Louis City and he should start once more here in search of his seventh goal of the campaign. He will also start alongside Obrian and Arriola. Alan Velasco came off the bench only to leave the pitch not long after he became injured - he now misses this outing. Jesus Jimenez and Edwin Cerillo. Sam Junqua, Herbert Endeley and Jose Mulato are all out injured for Dallas here, but these are the only fitness concerns. Quignon, Lletget and Pomykal are all set to feature in the midfield as a result.
