St. Louis City vs Colorado Rapids Prediction, Tips & Stats

Top meets with bottom in the Western Conference this weekend with St. Louis City playing host to Colorado Rapids with the away side also in last place in the overall table after just two wins in 2023.

It's been a terrible season for the Rapids since the beginning and after registering another winless game last time out, the club failed to beat LA Galaxy, who sit just above them after a 0-0 draw.

Colorado have only managed to defeat the Galaxy at the start of May and also beat Sporting Kansas City away from home when they were winless in MLS. It does mean that from their two wins this season, the club have only managed to beat sides sitting outside the top 10 from the Western Conference.

As for St. Louis, they head into this game having lost to Nashville the other week to remain fourth in the overall table, although they remain top of the table in the Western Conference. This should, however, be an easy win for St. Louis.

              Colorado Rapids team news

Colorado have had three red cards in the past few weeks with Braian Galvan and Lala Abubakar set to return to the setup here after a red card each against Orlando City the other week. Colorado may also be without Nicholson in this game after he came off with an injury in the draw with LA Galaxy.

\Bassett and Lewis should also start in the attacking midfield roles with Cabral expected to start up top once more as well. Priso and Ronan are likely to remain in defensive midfield, with the usual defence of Rosenberry, Maxso and Wilson all expected to feature. Michael Barrios should also feature here after returning from injury, and Calvin Harris and Darren Yapi could get more minutes. Diego Rubio has struggled this season after a great campaign in 2022 and he should start after missing the draw with the Galaxy. Yarbrough is expected to start in goal for Marko Illic as well.

              St. Louis City team news

St. Louis have also had suspension issues of their own but Kyle Hiebert is going to start here once more after his suspension ended in the last game. Parker, Bartlett and Nerwinski are all likely to start in defence with Ronan Burki in goal once more. Nicholas Gioacchini scored the other week against Nashville and should feature here alongside Alm and Ostrak. John Nelson, Celio Pompeu and Akil Watts all featured the other week and could be in for starting roles in this game.
