For our Norwich vs Everton prediction, we’re opting for a 2-1 away victory for the Toffees.
Everton will be looking to record their first Premier League victory since the start of December when they travel to basement side Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.
The Toffees are currently 15th in the table, just eight points clear of the relegation zone, while Norwich sit rock bottom of the division, having collected just 10 points from 20 games this term.
Entertain will also certainly be the wrong word though for two teams who have forgotten how to win in this league. Norwich's last victory in the league came at the end of November – since then they have gone eight games in the top flight without a win and lost their last six of them.
And Everton's record is almost as dismal. Although they defeated Arsenal at Goodison Park at the start of last month, that was their only win in their last 12 league games.
Between them, they have won seven games out of a combined 38 games. Norwich have the worst home record in the league and Everton have only won one game in nine away from home and that came back in August.
Since Dean Smith started his Norwich tenure with a 2-1 win over Southampton, his team have scored only one goal in the following eight league matches — against a Newcastle side with a dreadful defence that were down to 10 men for 80+ minutes.
The Canaries have scored just eight goals in 20 Premier League games this season, two of which have been penalties. Admittedly, they have underperformed underlying metrics massively, creating chances equating to 18.1 expected goals for (xGF) in pursuit of those eight goals.
Everton have won four of their last seven encounters with Norwich in all competitions, including a 2-0 win at Goodison Park earlier this season. The hosts have failed to win their last three home games against the Toffees with their last victory against Everton at Carrow Road arriving back in 2013.
Everton aren't in good form but have shown glimpses of their true ability in recent months (beating Arsenal and drawing with Chelsea), while Norwich have simply been poor in all departments.
For our Norwich vs Everton prediction, we’re opting for both teams to score.
