It's bottom of the table against second in the Eredivisie this weekend as PEC Zwolle welcome PSV Eindhoven to the MAC³PARK stadium on the final day of the campaign with both sides merely looking to end the season on a high.
Neither club have managed to achieve their aims for the season as PEC Zwolle have been in tatters for much of the campaign. John Stegeman's side have been terrible for most of the campaign and with only seven wins all campaign long, they've been one of the most out-of-form sides across Europe in 2021/22. The club have also lost 20 times in the Eredivisie this season, which has also seen them concede 50 times throughout the campaign and score a league-low 25 goals in 33 games. Zwolle did actually have a decent run throughout April as they picked up two wins in a time where it looked like they could get the job done in getting out of the drop zone. They defeated AZ Alkmaar and then RKC Waalwijk in consecutive games, but then they met with Ajax and plummeted right back into the drop zone with a defeat. Utrecht also took a point off them, with a defeat to Sparta Rotterdam last time out being the difference that sent them down.
All of this came at the same time PSV have let the title stay in Amsterdam with Ajax. Ajax's 5-0 win over Heerveenen kept the title with them as PSV edged past NEC thanks to goals from Ritsu Doan, Erick Guiterrez, and Eran Zahavi in a 3-2. It has still been a positive campaign for PSV with them only four behind the champions Ajax, while they are well clear of third-placed Feyenoord by seven points. The Europa Conference League campaign was slightly positive too until they met with Leicester City and lost by the narrowest margin after getting a 0-0 draw away to the Foxes before losing 2-1 on home soil.
PSV should win here, however, and they are expected to deliver a few goals Zwolle's way too.
