Bournemouth vs Fulham Prediction

This promises to be an entertaining encounter between two sides who will both be pushing for European qualification this season. Games involving either side, seem to deliver high-scoring affairs, with Over 2.5 goals landing in the last five matches involving AFC Bournemouth and in four of the previous five games involving Fulham.

As for this game in general, we are likely to be looking at a high-scoring draw between the two sides. Bournemouth’s record isn’t the greatest by any stretch. However, they have superiority against Fulham in the home meetings between the two sides, with three wins in the last four at the Vitality Stadium.

Fulham will obviously not be an easy task for a Bournemouth side winless in their previous five matches, with the Cottagers fresh off their excellent 3-2 victory against Premier League leaders Liverpool. Marco Silva’s side also has a tremendous record away from home, with the visitors winning five of their previous seven matches in all competitions on the road.

That being said, we can see this game falling the same way as their league meeting back in December, resulting in a 2-2 draw.

Bournemouth vs Fulham Preview & Prediction

Two sides who are vying for a position in European Football this season will battle it out at the Vitality Stadium next Monday, as Bournemouth hosts Fulham.

Date: 14/04/2024
Location: Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth
Kick-Off: 8 pm

Bournemouth’s potential European push has been curtailed these past few weeks, with their form seeing the Cherries fall into 10th place in the Premier League after 31 matches played. The Cherries have collected 45 points this season and have scored 51 goals and conceded 40. A win for Andoni Iroala’s side will be pivotal here, as it could propel the South Coast side into eighth place with a superior goal differential ahead of their opponents on Monday Night Football.

Fulham are enjoying a fine season under Marco Silva, which has seen the club reach a Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool, to which they were beaten on aggregate and an FA Cup quarter-final run in which they beat Manchester United before losing to Crystal Palace. The Cottagers are in eighth place in the Premier League, with 48 points gained from 31 matches played.

Form Guide

H2H:

The recent meetings between the two teams fall slightly in Bournemouth’s favour across their Premier League meetings. The Cherries have won twice in the last five meetings between the two teams, with Fulham winning once and the two games remaining resulting in a draw. The reverse meeting between the two sides, resulted in a spectacular encounter as the game ended 2-2. Raul Jimenez opened the scoring five minutes before the interval, with Evanilson equalising for the Cherries five minutes after the break. Harry Wilson, thought to have given Fulham the victory in the 72nd minute before Dango Ouattara scored an 89th-minute equaliser, as the points were shared.

Bournemouth:

Bournemouth are in a slump heading into this game, as Andoni Iroala’s side will be looking for a quick turnaround to fix their European push. The Cherries are without a win in their previous five matches in all competitions, which had seen the side lose 2-1 to Manchester City in the quarter final of the FA Cup. Bournemouth head into this game, following their 2-2 draw with West Ham United in which Evanilson scored a brace.

On home soil, Bournemouth are in a dire run of form at the Vitality Stadium, with three consecutive losses against Ipswich Town (1-2), Manchester City (1-2) and Brentford (1-2).

Fulham:

Fulham are coming into this game, with two wins in their previous five matches in all competitions, with the Cottagers fresh off their excellent 3-2 victory against Premier League leaders Liverpool.

Marco Silva’s side also has a tremendous record away from home, with the visitors winning five of their previous seven matches in all competitions on the road, with victories against Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-2), Wigan Athletic (1-2) and Manchester United in the fifth round of the FA Cup, in which they overcame the current holders 4-2 on penalties, after 1-1 during 120 minutes of play.
