Brighton & Hove Albion are getting closer to the Europa League after a last-second steal of all three points against Manchester United on Thursday as Everton head to the AMEX still deep in the relegation zone this Monday night.
Everton are still in the bottom three and are staring in the face of the Championship and sitting just one point behind Leeds United in 17th with four games left to play. The club lost to Newcastle United last Thursday and drew 2-2 with Leicester City on Monday night and Sean Dyche failed to capitalise on the his side's best chance yet to get out of the bottom three.
Everton have now failed to win a game since beating Brentford at the start of March. Against Leicester, the two played out a fantastic game and the Toffees took the lead through a Dominic Calvert-Lewin penalty before the Foxes took a 2-1 lead. Alex Iwobi would go on to equalise in the second half with Dyche's men remaining behind them by one point now.
As for Brighton, they netted a penalty in the 99th minute against United on Thursday to move closer to the Europa League than they have been all season long. Alexis Mac Allister scored from the spot and the game ended thereafter.
The Seagulls are now within just four points of Liverpool in fifth and they also have two games in hand to play with. Brighton now have a chance to get a Europa League spot in their own hands this season after also hammering Wolverhampton Wanderers 6-0 last weekend at the AMEX.
