Bournemouth continue their quest for a European place as they take on Burnley in the Premier League this weekend.
Burnley come into the game 19th in the table with relegation back to the Championship as good as assured. The Clarets are nine points shy of safety and are well out of form, and with sides above them picking up points, it's looking highly unlikely that they'll be able to close the gap. Wolves, currently one place below them, are also starting to pick up regular wins, so their efforts will likely flip to avoiding a bottom placed finish when all is said and done.
Burnley's form is poor, with the Clarets claiming only one win in their last nine games. Their most recent outing was a 2-0 defeat at Everton, a result that followed a dramatic 3-4 defeat to Brentford, meaning they're now winless in four games. The team has been a reliable BTTS selection in recent weeks with seven of their last outings seeing both sides find the back of the net. Over 2.5 goals, meanwhile, have been scored in six of their last ten.
Bournemouth have their eyes set on securing European football for next season as they sit 9th in the league table on 40 points. The Cherries are enjoying a fine campaign and given the losses in the summer transfer market, Andoni Iraola may well be a contender for manager of the season if he can lead his team to a top seven finish.
Iraola's side have only one defeat in their last ten games in the league, and have won four of their last nine. Their most recent fixture was a 0-0 draw with Brentford, a competitive game with a strong team.
Away from home, they've won two and drawn two of their last four games, so they'll feel strongly about their chances in Lancashire. Their games on the road also tend to be goal-filled, with seven of their last ten games seeing both over 2.5 goals scored and BTTS occur.
Winning three of the last five head-to-head meetings between the teams, Bournemouth have an advantageous recent record against Burnley, and that's a record they'll expect to extend this weekend.
