Chelsea host Nottingham Forest at Stamford Bridge this Saturday for their fourth game of the 2023/24 Premier League season. The Blues finally bagged their first win of the season and will be looking for another one, whereas Nottingham Forest will be looking to bounce back from their last defeat.

The Blues opened their season at home to Liverpool in an entertaining draw. Luis Diaz scored for Liverpool and Axel Disasi scored on his Chelsea debut and despite both sides having a potential winner disallowed, the game finished at 1 - 1. Chelsea’s first away game of the season didn’t go to plan as ten man West Ham won 3 - 1, Carney Chukwuemeka did score his first Chelsea goal but Enzo Fernandez also missed a penalty. Their final league action came against Luton where they bagged their first win of the season. Raheem Sterling scored twice and Nicolas Jackson finally got his goal in a 3 - 0 win over The Hatters.
Chelsea welcome Wimbledon for the Second Round of the League Cup. In a somewhat nervy display, The Blues managed to mount the comeback. James Tilley converted his penalty in the 19th minute after a foul by Robert Sanchez. However, Noni Madueke scored his penalty in added time of the first half and Enzo Fernandez scored his first Chelsea goal after a mistake from Alex Bass.
Nottingham Forest currently sit 14th in the Premier League on three points. Forest have one win and two losses in three games and a serviceable goal difference of negative one.
Forest’s first game was at the Emirates against Arsenal. The Gunners raced into a 2 - 0 lead with Nottingham Forest only posing a real threat in the closing moments where Taiwo Awoniyi grabbed a goal in the 82nd minute. But it was not enough as Arsenal won 2 - 1. However, next time out, Forest were on the right side of a 2 - 1 scoreline. Awoniyi once again scored, along with a late winner from Chris Wood to give Nottingham Forest the 2 - 1 win. However, their last game against Manchester United ended in another loss. Awoniyi and Willy Boly both scored in the first four minutes, but a red card in the second half gave United the chance to win 3 - 2.
Nottingham Forest hosted Burnley in an all Premier League tie in the Second Round of the League Cup. In a game where Forest had zero shots on target, Zeki Amdouni scored the only goal in the 1 - 0 win for Burnley.
