Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest Prediction, Tips & Stats

Frank Lampard is looking for back-to-back wins for the first time since taking charge of Chelsea for the second time as the Blues welcome Nottingham Forest to Stamford Bridge sitting just outside of the relegation zone.

Chelsea beat Bournemouth in what was the first victory for Lampard and a victory that ended a run of six games in the losing column. The Blues saw an early goal from Conor Gallagher and it looked as if Chelsea would leave the south coast with just a point after an equaliser just 12 minutes later from Bournemouth. Benoit Badiashile and Joao Felix scored in the final 10 minutes, however, and Chelsea finally got their first win in nine games.

Nevertheless, the Blues still sit 11th and are six behind their west London rivals Fulham in 10th. They are unlikely to finish in the top 10 this season unless they can win their game in hand away to Manchester United in two weeks and also if Fulham drop more points. Across the season, the five-time Premier League champions have now lost 14 games and won just 11 with a terrible record of 34 goals scored.

Forest are out of the relegation zone and now sit above 18th-placed Leicester City by three points. On the other hand, however, they do have the worst goals difference for those still in the relegation fight, so they can still be pulled into the bottom three this weekend, despite their three-point gap.

          Nottingham Forest team news

Forest have had to deal with more injuries than any other Premier League this side this season with Giulian Biancone being out until around August and faces a fitness test just to get fit for the new season. Dean Henderson has already likely played his last game for Forest with his injury keeping him out until July. Chris Wood is also out for the season and Omar Richards is unlikely to feature in the final few games too. Scott McKenna is also out for the next few games and will face a fitness test towards the end of the season. Gustavo Scarpa may return here, however, but Jack Colback is still out with a concussion incident from training. Jonjo Shelvey is facing a fitness test before this one and Neco Williams won't play again this season.

          Chelsea team news
