Fulham host Bournemouth this weekend in a game that is set to be action-packed. This fixture has seen at least three goals in the last three meetings, including the Cherries 3-0 win in December.
Fulham
Since beating Arsenal 2-1 at the end of last year, Fulham’s form has taken a huge hit, which has seen them fail to win any of their last six matches. The most recent of those was a 2-2 draw with Burnley, where they threw away a two-goal lead.
This result left the Cottagers 13th in the league, with seven wins, five draws, and 11 losses. Luckily for this weekend, six of those victories have occurred at Craven Cottage, with their home form carrying them this season.
Marco Silva’s side have been rather weak at the back this season, conceding 1.65 goals per game, but it does seem that when they concede, the floodgates tend to open, as they’ve also claimed six clean sheets. However, their biggest issue has been in the attack, with the side scoring 1.30 goals per game on average.
Bournemouth
The Cherries have also fallen off slightly after they won six of their nine league games in November and December. They now haven’t won in any of their last four league games, with the latest being a 1-1 draw at home to Nottingham Forest, where neither side impressed.
Bournemouth are currently 12th in the league, but they could go nine points clear of Fulham with a win this weekend. Also, they’ve won more games on the road than at home this season, so they will be confident of achieving that.
Andoni Iraola’s team have only netted an average goals per game of 1.36 this season, which is hardly impressive, but the positive is that they have Dominic Solanke in their side, who’s netted 13 times this season. Bournemouth also concede the fourth most in the league, 1.86.
Verdict?
Both teams scoring is a likely outcome this weekend, given their performances last weekend.
Either side could win the tie, but a draw is a likely outcome.
The final prediction is Fulham 1-1 Bournemouth.
