This Saturday, Fulham welcome Burnley to Craven Cottage, where they will look to break into the top half of the table with a win. However, the last meeting between the two sides ended in a 2-0 away victory for the Clarets.
Fulham
After struggling to find form in front of goal at the start of the season, everything clicked in attack after Fulham’s 3-2 win at home to Wolves at the end of November. Since then, they’ve netted three goals at Anfield and beat Nottingham Forest and West Ham 5-0.
This increased output has put the Cottagers in 11th with 21 points, and Marco Silva has done an excellent job at turning things around over the last month.
Having said that, Fulham faced a setback last time out as they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Newcastle on the road. This result took the Cottagers goals conceded record to 29 for the campaign, but an early Raul Jimenez red determined the outcome.
Burnley
Vincent Kompany’s team has struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League this season, with Burnley winning just twice in 17 games and losing 13. Worryingly, their only two victories have come against the other promoted teams. This poor showing has put the Clarets 19th with just eight points.
They’ve struggled at both ends of the field, scoring just 16 goals, five of which came against Sheffield United, and conceding 36, the second worst record in the Premier League.
Last time out, Burnley suffered their fifth defeat in seven matches as they were defeated 2-0 by Sean Dyche’s Everton. The visitors had a two-goal lead by halftime and remained stubborn till the end.
Verdict?
Fulham’s last three home games have been victories, with an aggregate score of 13-2. They also have the seventh-best home record, winning five of their eight matches at Craven Cottage. Whereas Burnley have only won once on the road in eight attempts.
The final prediction is Fulham 2-0 Burnley.
