Leicester City vs Arsenal Prediction

Arsenal enter this game as firm favourites as the Gunners are second in the Premier League standings, while Leicester sit all the way down in 18th-place.

Mikel Arteta’s side have the third-best away record in the Premier League, having picked up 22 points from 12 matches, while Leicester City have accumulated just nine points from 12 home league games - the third-worst record in the division.

The Gunners average just shy of two goals per game away from the Emirates, having scored 22 times in 12 games and face a Leicester side that have conceded 21 in 12 while scoring just 11 times. We expect that Arsenal will comfortably beat Leicester by a two-goal margin.

Prediction: Leicester City 0-2 Arsenal

Leicester City vs Arsenal Prediction & Preview

Second-place Arsenal travels to Leicester City with the intentions of keeping pace with Premier League leaders Liverpool, while the Foxes will be keen to aid their survival hopes at the expense of the Gunners.

Date: 15/02/2025

Location: King Power Stadium

Time: 12:30pm

The last time these two sides met, Leicester gave Arsenal a close scare back in late September as a 94th-minute own goal by Wilfred Ndidi and a 99th-minute strike from Kai Havertz gave Arteta’s men an uncomfortable 4-2 win having seen their 2-0 half time lead through Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard cancelled out by an unlikely James Justin brace.

Leicester will know that they are up against it this season, as they are 18th in the Premier League having been hamstrung in both transfer windows due to FFP/PSR regulations. The Foxes have amassed 17 points from 24 games, winning four, drawing five and losing 15, with new boss Ruud van Nistelrooy winning just three and drawing once during his 13 games in charge thus far.

The Dutchman’s record is slightly better than Steve Cooper’s in terms of win percentage, as the Welshman managed just three wins in 15, while drawing five times, costing him his job while the club were 16th in the league table.

The Foxes will be solely focussing on Premier League survival between now and the end of the season, having been knocked out of both the League Cup and FA Cup by Manchester United. They are currently just two points adrift of 17th-place Wolverhampton Wanderers, however, their run of fixtures does not look favourable.

Arsenal will be keen to focus on the Premier League and to try and mount as much pressure as they can on Liverpool between now and the end of the season, as they are six points behind Arne Slot’s men prior to the Reds final ever visit to Goodison Park on Wednesday night.

Mikel Arteta’s side will travel to Leicester with confidence, as they have won all of the last six head-to-head meetings between the two sides. The Gunners are yet to learn who they will face in the Champions League’s Round of 16, which is the only other competition they have left to fight for following eliminations to Manchester United and Newcastle United in the FA Cup and League Cup.

Form Guide

Leicester City

Leicester City were knocked out of the FA Cup by Manchester United in their last outing, having conceded second half goals to Joshua Zirkzee and Harry Maguire after Bobby De Cordova-Reid had given them the lead going into half time.

Their latest defeat came after a heavy 4-0 loss at Everton in the aftermath of a shock 2-1 win against Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as goals from Jamie Vardy and Bilal El Khannouss turned the game on its head after Richarlison had put the hosts 1-0 up after 33 minutes.

Prior to the aforementioned matches, Leicester suffered further defeats to Fulham (2-0) and Crystal Palace (2-0).

Arsenal

Arsenal’s last outing was their 2-0 away loss to Newcastle which ultimately sealed their semi-final exit in the League Cup via a 4-0 aggregate scoreline.

Mikel Arteta’s side had previously thrashed Manchester City 5-1 at the Emirates Stadium thanks to goals by Martin Odegaard, Thomas Partey, Miles Lewis-Skelly, Kai Havertz and Ethan Nwaneri.

In the run-up to those matches, the Gunners had managed further victories over Girona (2-1), Wolverhampton Wanderers (1-0) and Dinamo Zagreb (3-0).
