Manchester United's recent victory against Crystal Palace was sorely needed, given the lacklustre home performance last time out against Everton. The win against the Eagles now paints an entirely different narrative for Ruben Amorim's side, as a potential run of no wins in four matches has now evolved into only one loss in seven in the Premier League.
The Red Devils are one of the handful of teams that are in contention for European places, as they are seventh in the league, with a win potentially moving them into the top five. Old Trafford has provided the majority of the points for Manchester United this season, as the home side have picked up 12 points from a possible 18 this season, with only two defeats against Arsenal and Everton. Defensively, Manchester United still have problems, as the home side has not kept a clean sheet in their last six matches.
West Ham United were victors on their last visit to Old Trafford; however, it was the Hammers' first win at Old Trafford since 2007. Nuno Espirito Santo's side were beaten by Liverpool at the weekend, with Lucas Paqueta foolishly getting himself dismissed for dissent. The Brazilian's absence will not bode well, as the Hammers are without a win away from home in their last four games and have no clean sheets in their previous 10.
Neither of these teams can keep a clean sheet, but at home, Manchester United do appear to be performing well, despite the mishap at Everton. Over 2.5 goals have been scored in five of the last six games involving Manchester United and four of the previous five games involving West Ham United, so goals are to be expected here.
We are going for a 3-1 home win for the Red Devils.
Manchester United 3-1 West Ham United.
