Nottingham Forest can now look ahead to building on their confidence from recent results, as they face a Coventry City side whose fate already looks sealed even this early in the season.
Oliver Glasner's side have started to show signs of life after a slow start, and recent results will certainly give them an edge over a despondent Coventry City team. Nottingham Forest are unbeaten in their previous three matches, starting with two draws against Liverpool (2-2) and Tottenham Hotspur (0-0) and in their most recent league fixture, the Reds secured a 3-2 win against Aston Villa. The home side will be buoyed by the fact that Liam Delap scored his first goal for the club, and the winner came when Forest were technically down to ten men for a period of time.
Coventry City's promotion told a wonderful story for English football, with the Sky Blues returning to the top flight; however, the step up already looks like a bridge too far for Frank Lampard's side. Coventry City had a midweek chance to build momentum, but Unai Emery's Aston Villa side romped to a 3-1 away win at the CBS Arena. That defeat leaves Coventry City on a four-game losing run, with further defeats against Brighton (0-5), Manchester City (1-0), and Hull City (0-1). The Sky Blues have also yet to score a single goal in the Premier League, conceding 10 goals.
Defensively, it's not looking great for the away side, with Lampard's men conceding first in five of their last six matches in all competitions, and that is likely to repeat itself here.
Simply with how Coventry City have fared this season, along with Forest slowly picking up results, we can't see anything other than a home win here.
